Urdu translation of Pashto Folk song by Ali Zafar and Gul-Panra

OK this is very cool and definitely a first for me!

Thanks to Farid Jan, my friend for four decades (yes since kindergarten) who is close friends with Ali Zafar (one of the top Pakistani A-list singers), I was asked to translate this Pashto folk song into Urdu.

This is a tribute to my grandfather. You will notice my middle name Shahzad is written as “Sha’at Khan” because in the village, his nick-name was Sha’at Khan (Sha’at = honey, Khan = common last name for Pathans). For a man who was not literate himself, who decided to send his kids to school for education, within two generations, his name is now watched by millions associated with a literary activity of translating one language into another!
